Frances Santiago

Frances Marie (Collette) Santiago, 101, passed away November 17, 2020 at ACMC.

She was born on June 3, 1919 in Ashtabula, Ohio the daughter of Michael and Giovannia (DeMatteo) Gioiello.

Frances was a 1937 graduate of Ashtabula High School. She worked numerous jobs over the course of her long life; she worked in the pharmacy of Ashtabula General Hospital, she managed the shoe department at Nichol’s and was a real estate agent for Busy Bee Realty and then Lucy Gordon Real Estate Co.

She enjoyed the study of astrology and compatibility of astrological signs as well as reading cards for family and friends.  She was a very loving sister, aunt, and great aunt.

She is survived by her brother, Tony Collette; and some very special nieces and nephews whom she loved like her own children: Jean Gerren, Peg and Richie Carlo, and Michael Carlo; along with many more nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Juan “Tony” Santiago in 2013; her son, Carmen J. Felice in 1997; her parents; her siblings: Sylvester Collette, David Gioiello, Mammie Collette, Mary Raffenaud, and Samuel Collette.

Calling hours will be held on Friday November 20, 2020 from 10:00am to 11:30am at Czup Funeral Home, 1329 Lake Avenue.  A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00pm at St. Joseph Church 3300 Lake Ave. Burial will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery; masks will be required for all services.
