Gary C. Jones

ASHTABULA – A good man died on June 27, 2021.  You may know him as Gary C. Jones who was born on April 26, 1946, the son of Crawford and Dorothy (Thurston) Jones; or you may know him by “Corky” or “Jonesy”.  But the names he liked best, and the names he was most proud of were “Dad” and “Grandpa”.

He graduated from Ashtabula High in 1965 and went on to proudly serve his country in the US Marines during Vietnam.  He worked hard all his life, many of those years at the RMI Sodium Plant.  He enjoyed his retirement going to the clubs he belonged to: Ashtabula VFW, Ashtabula Army-Navy Union and the E.A.C.

Gary was a lover of all music and a Cleveland sports fanatic.  He would help anyone he could when asked.  He loved his kids, his grandkids and his two former wives Jo and Dot.

He is survived by his loving family: his children: Christopher (Rochelle), Joseph (Sheri) Steven (Gloria) and Taresa; and his 12 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Mark.
