John Rizzo Sr.

John Michael Rizzo, Sr., 56, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2021 in Andover, Ohio.

John was born on August 20, 1965 in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of Richard and Gloria (Gall) Rizzo.

He was previously employed by Miller Pipeline and H & H Enterprises. He also worked part time at Hamilton Farms since he was a teenager along with many years working in the Oil field.

John had many interests and hobbies: he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, boating, fishing, welding, coon hunting, and building oil rig scale models. He liked to restore old tractors, rebuild motorcycles, you could always find him tinkering on something in the garage.

John was one to always be there to lend a hand whether it be to dig a ditch, help with a roof or build a porch. He was a jack of all trades and a blessing to family, friends and neighbors and the life of the party.

John is survived by his loving family: his mother, Gloria Rizzo, his former wife, friend, caregiver, and companion with whom he made his home, Dodie McLaughlin, his children: John Michael (Tiffany) Rizzo Jr., Timothy (Haley) Rizzo, Clayton (Gabby) Rizzo and Trisha (Lon) Hopkins, his siblings: Anthony, Russell, Angelo, James and Gloria Rizzo and his many grandchildren: Austin (Maria), Morgan, Lincon, Kayla, Ashlyn, Vincent, Alivia, Viviana, Krista, Emery and a great-grandson due in January.

He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Rizzo who passed away in July, 2018.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 16, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Andover Christian Church, 200 Stillman Avenue, Andover, Ohio. Service to follow at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. William Siekkinen officiating.
